Future Architect Conference
A three-day event by Strelka Institute taking place in Moscow between 10 and 12 Sept will bring lectures, discussions and workshops with the participation of representatives of leading architectural bureaus, design studios, institutes, developer companies from Great Britain, the USA, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland and Russia.
What requirements will architects face in the future? What will they do at work? How will design tools and ways of communicating with the customer change? Will information modelling technologies and VR headsets replace prototypes and sketch boards? What issues call for immediate attention?
Lifestyle, climate, construction costs – everything will be taken into account in the project of the future. Its main feature is typical algorithms of customization. They will ensure the prompt delivery and affordability of individual projects. All this is great, but who will pay the architect?
A modern architect attracts customers with buildings that look nice on social networks. Will social network standards become an obstacle for high-quality projects in the future?
Meanwhile, VR-presentation has come to substitute two-dimensional pictures. Mixed reality offers opportunities and tools that have yet to be invented by architects, game designers, neuroscientists, psychologists, or engineers. This new reality and the place of the architect within it is the main topic of the conference.

On 12 Sep 15 – 20 applicants of the Future Architect open call by Strelka Insitute and Future Architecture will present themselves and their applied ideas in the PechaKucha format, while an international jury will name 5 finalists.
The event is held within the framework of the "Architect of the Future" conference in a strategic partnership with DOM.RF with the support of the Ministry of Construction of Russia. The conference is part of the free educational program Architects.
