A new Outlook on Nature

As an integral part of the environment such architecture is an organic design which is connected with its surroundings and raises the visual experience for the visitors.

The comprehensive experience that the building provides to the adventure

The re-definition and aspiration of the viewpoint is to create an elegant and contemporary architecture in nature which enriches the social and natural environment, fulfilling the needs of the modern age with its communal function and organic style. A building influences its environment and it also reacts to it while it also has a great effect on the emotions and feelings of visitors. It is an architectural innovation which lends a deeper meaning to its location and it fits best to a tourist spot, popular venue or a spectacular natural area. It enriches its environment aesthetically and intellectually and gives an extreme visual experience to the visitors who can truly realize the spirit of the venue. The current architectural object – with the reinterpretation of the word ‘organic’ – intends to become a natural part of the surrounding forest as a continuation of the environment.

The main aspect of the design concept was to create a natural, aesthetic building that serves as a social tourist point as well as an amazing viewpoint, shelter for the visitors where they can enjoy nature and rest at the same time. The wonderful venue deserves a tourist center which is worthy of the environment, built up from organic materials and fits to the nature’s structure with its unique design.

In order to keep the uniqueness of nature the building was designed to reflect the abstract shape and form of the trees while a spiral staircase leads up to the rooftop inside the body of the building. The viewpoint is located at the intersection of the 3 main paths that leads to the top of the hill. The visitors can find themselves in a reception square where the organic wooden building looms towards the sky.

As we get on top of the steep hill in level height we can walk out to a promenade between the trees where we can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of Pécs. We can get on top of the viewpoint by using a caracole located inside the block of the building. On the foliage level a shelter provides a resting place for the visitors.

We can use the dynamic path on the roof to walk and look around. The 3 basic units of the building look toward the local settlements of: Pécsvárad, Hosszúhetény and Püspökszentlászló. We can find a human sundial at the most sunny part of the building where visitors guess the current time from their own shadows.

The floor plan of the viewpoint has a symbolic content. The plan view of the building represents the Paeonia officinalis subsp. Banatica plant which is a native of this area only.
