COMMONSTRUCTURES

COMMONSTRUCTURES. The Potential of physical Structures to engage Society
File under
Type of project
  • Systemic changes

There is a certain ambiguity with the concept of structure. It can be a physical presence that expresses a simple diagram of forces as well as a symbolic representation of a certain society. It can be a spatial structure as well as an ideological or political structure.

The transformation of European cities based on increasing tourism and private investments is changing the urban fabrics and converting the existing structures as an image of blindness and fractured culture.

It seems that the ideological construction of a COMMONSTRUCTURE as a symbol of a whole society sharing a common ground is not anymore an issue to our European contemporary condition although we have the capacity to analyse their potential as an art-form and seek for their ontological and representational condition.

The structure of our society is linked to the physical structures of our environment and we must guarantee their public appropriation as they have an essential role to engage societies.
