Through analises of the architecture of the town Resen , the new intervention is a continous two floor complex which in its function includes the old concrete shells of the existing open market.

We offer a new concept of a modern open market based on the concept of the antique stoas and old bazaars including the activities that they bring along. Analysing the existing concept of the way that the stalls are organised , they create the path , so we started the oppossite way.

The idea was the path to generate the form of the intervention and the stalls to follow that path after. In addition, one of our goals was to make the object not dominant in the environment, because Resen is not a big city and most of the architecture is modest. On the existing market of the given location, there are already three massive shells, which were used as eaves. In order to show respect for the existing construction, we decided to keep them, and thus they played a big role in the entire design process.

Most importantly this new concept is accessible and enjoyed from all the people .

"Inside" the open market

The supermarket is planned on the underground floor

The flexibility of the complex
