Victoria Dockside Car Park Design

ST Design created an “artistic, unconventional and human” car park for Victoria Dockside

Our concept for the car park is artistic, unconventional and human – these were the starting points of our design process.

The design of car park is often neglected. Yet inside this 4-storey car park, a dynamic atmosphere arises from the interplay of vibrantly coloured walls, innovative traffic signs and striking contemporary graffiti by leading artist Caratoes. Each floor is brightened with a different mix of contemporary colours and materials so drivers can easily identify their location; thus, the design enhances the experience of visitors getting to their cars. Clear and large road signs custom designed by the design team with a tweak in graphic expression are painted to replace the conventional style, creating a sense of playfulness. The entrance to the shopping mall is fitted with grids of light bulbs, metallic ceilings, red brick walls and checkered floors in the style of a classic Broadway theatre.

A car park can also be vibrant, cultural and still very functional. We hope the thoughts demonstrated in the car park at Victoria Dockside can delight and inspire its users for years to come.

The entrance to the shopping mall is fitted with grids of light bulbs in the style of a classic Broadway theatre.

Striking contemporary graffiti by leading artist Caratoes enhance the playfulness of the space.

Colourful walls on the drum with dynamic stripes enhances the momentum of the space.

A mini version of the connection between the shopping mall and the car park are reinstated by the grids of light bulbs and checkered floors.

A canvas of walls setting the showcase of lights and shadows.
