SPECULATIVE HABITAT

Homo Faber of Kornati Islands
Sustainable future starts in the present, exploring Kornati habitat real potentials through an imaginary inhabitant
File under
Type of project
  • Systemic changes

The project is a pioneering research platform for sustainable living in the area of the islands Murter and the National Nature Reserve of Kornati, seeking potential practices to deal personal and collective goods, raising social and environmental awareness.

Life is a constant flow of interactions where space shapes us as much as we shape space resulting with an identity defined through values, heritage, architecture, biodiversity, food security, science and new technologies.

The goal is to explore and understand the space in real time through an imaginary homo faber model, searching for life solutions. This inhabitant aims to be the source empowerment of the local community of collectivity, cultivating ethics of goods and services exchange through coexistence with nature. Through him, we tend to find answers that improve the well-being of the local community and visitors, self-confidence, security and satisfaction as a dignified framework for all our activities.

I see it, I feel it, I know it: what it was, what it is now as if it is not, what needs to come, it's smart ...

What time is it?
It's time, believe me! It's time for Hope! It's time for the Future.
From the Book: KURNATI sjećanje na zaborav, Nacionalni park Kornati, p.138

I’ll knit the blanket as a net out of a single thread. I’ll catch Dreams. I'm clear, I feel it, I know it...
From the Book: KURNATI sjećanje na zaborav, Nacionalni park Kornati, p.182

And I need sweetness of figs from our fields and I want our fields to smile again and I want the Garden of Eden...
From the Book: KURNATI sjećanje na zaborav, Nacionalni park Kornati, p.148

So many times we sailed our ships to the islands on paddles and sails, but now with our fast ships, the islands have become more distant. Why, oh why?
