Museum of/for Everyday Use
Inhabit without the habit.

Type of project
  • New alliances

This place is a platform of rethinking today’s inhabitatio and P.Bourdieu’s term “habitus”.All the needs of everyday life are approached through its mechanism of art and the “useful installations”. All the household is organized, presented and named differently as if it was a work of art in a museum. Each room gives an ambiguous and different experience than the usual and creates an uncanny feeling on the normal way of living. For this reason, some technological devices are used to perform and analyze each action. At the same time, each space is created in a way that every function becomes an exhibit. It is a museum where the visitor becomes a user and at the same time an exhibit himself. A place where the distinct animality of the human being is under observation like a science experiment. In this way the project is an ironic reference to the way we overshare our lives through social networks. It is an alive archive of inhabitation and of the performativity of everyday life.
