The project ‘Les Bébés’ is an answer to exploration & research of any flood lands around the globe.
The future vision as the living landscape continuously dependent to rising sea waters dictated the form for the free floating Laboratory not vice versa. It is our response to this unique type of location and its heritage providing freedom of learning & preservation.
The conceptual reasoning behind this design can be compared to various insect forms such as water striders and caterpillars ~ hence a mobile inflatable air structure emerged as the best solution.
Laboratory together with additional exploration capsules are elevated off the ground via hydraulic legs which are attached to pontoons pads providing the safety off the changing water levels, can cope with the demands of the marshes, gives the opportunity to temporary free float, travel to other parts of the flood lands and beyond ~ gently drifting as a natural companion to the environment it can peacefully inhabit.
