Supermix in the City

Ambitious mixed uses to build vibrant, productive neighbourhoods
Space in our cities is precious, we have to make it work harder by being more ambitious with combinations of different uses: supermix!

Encouraging 'supermix' in our cities will create new types of architecture. Schools that are also houses, factories combined with community centres, libraries that attract enterprise and commerce. We have the technology to measure and overcome environmental constraints, so there’s no reason why we shouldn’t embrace hybrid, diverse uses. By closely combining the places where we live, work and play, our neighbourhoods will be vibrant day and night, with resilient economies. Our dream for the future of architecture is one of fantastic diversity.
