Aleksandra Pešterac is an architect and Assistant Professor. She received her BA and PhD degrees at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad. She is the Director of the Centre for Scene Design, Architecture and Technology – SCEN (OISTAT Centre for Serbia). She is a co-author of several award-winning projects in the field of architectural design. She participated as the author or mentor in numerous group exhibitions and workshops.

Play-absence space reminds us that neglected buildings can be seen as creative potential for evoking different memories or imposing new meanings and narratives.

Play-absence space reveals a neglected building in Novi Sad (Serbia) – once educational place for children, citizens and workers. The existing building narrative and atmosphere of this desolate space embodies a strong influence on observer. The aim of this project is to re-play a new utility value through several site-specific light and sound installations.
