  • Systemic changes

This project aims to find both urban and architectural design related solutions to enhance the living conditions of refugees in eastern Sudan by integrating them into local communities.
Refugees have been in eastern Sudan's isolated Camp for almost 40 years, most of the camp generations have been born and raised there exposing them directly to the danger of human trafficking as many cases recorded.
Through integration, we could solve many issues such as:
- Breaking the walls between refugees and the community.
- Achieving the highest benefits of having two communities in the same area through cultural and economic exchange.
- Proposing a model solution for refugees' problem in Sudan
- Shagarab camp is designed to be a temporary camp without taking into consideration the long-term systems such as healthcare, education, access to food and sanitary systems, the integrations project takes into consideration the long-term residence of refugees and life needs.

All nodes already exist in the site; nodes are social points helps to break boundaries between people by connecting the nodes and distributing housing cluster between them to achieve integration.

The park design comes in a more modern way to attract all the city to achieve a sort of soft interaction between the two communities.

The cluster design comes to keep the same exciting cluster outer face while introducing a public space inside the cluster.

This type of housing focusing on integrating local houses with Eritrean houses.

This type of housing focusing on creating a social atmosphere.
