Fabio Ciaravella - Architecture of Shame

Architecture of Shame investigates relationships between architecture and shame as a tool to understand contemporary European identities from a bottom up perspective.


AoS was born as part of Matera application process for the European Capital of Culture 2019. Members of the group are architects from different fields and one lawyer. AoS collaborates with universities, It has been working and continues to work with institutions such as the State Archive of Matera, Federcasa, the embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and is in active dialogue with projects operating in the field of art, creativity and social activism in Europe.


The two-day event at the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) in Ljubljana represents the central gathering of the Future Architecture platform. The conference with 25 selected Future Architecture 2020 Call for Ideas applicants and invited guests is one of the most insightful annual gatherings around European architecture and showcases ideas and trends for the future development of the profession.
