The Architect

the first reality show on architecture competitions

The Architect

the first reality show on architecture competitions
The Show will document the work of six young architects team during a two months competition
File under
Type of project
  • New alliances

Contemporary Architecture suffers more than just a lack of popularity nowadays.
Many aspects of architecture practice are unknown or largely misunderstood by the majority of the population that consider architects' behavior snobbish and their language indecipherable.
Architects, on the other side, blame the ignorance of the masses for their failures and frustration still, they enjoy the romantic feeling of an elitist isolation.

A reality show on architecture would re-establish a dialogue between these two seemingly irreconcilable positions and replace the architects’ complaining attitude with a more proactive engagement.
Showing a crucial expression of architecture-making such as an architectural competition would produce culture by means of entertainment.
The participation of young architects, judged by renown architects and the public would drastically reactivate the dialectic between profession and society, providing an unprecedented moment of reciprocal education.
