Founded in 2004 Architektūros fondas has established itself as one of the key institutions in the architectural and cultural field in Lithuania promoting architecture qualities and supporting the development of a conscious and critical community. For more than a decade, the organization operates as an open and voluntary-based platform, hosting bottom-up initiatives and projects that focus on building architectural community, education and foster contemporary debate about architecture among professionals and public. Architektūros fondas has been organizing a number of public events, cultural and educational projects such as lecture series, public discussions, architecture outreach tours, festival Open House Vilnius and architecture education program for children Traveling Architecture Workshops, just to mention a few. It has been also involved into curatorial projects and exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad including Lithuanian representation in the International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia showcasing The Baltic Pavilion in 2016, and The Swamp School in 2018.
