As part of the Future Architecture Program 2021 “Landscapes of Care”, the S AM Swiss Architecture Museum is organizing a lecture series taking place during the summer of 2021. As part of the Future Architecture Program 2021 “Landscapes of Care”, the S AM Swiss Architecture Museum is organizing a lecture series taking place during the summer of 2021. The program will coincide with the S AM’s summer exhibition “Access for All”, which examines architectural and infrastructural projects in the Brazilian metropolis of São Paulo with a particular focus on how they interweave with and add new qualities to the urban fabric in which they are embedded. Building off of the themes in the exhibition, the lecture series will invite emerging creatives to present visions and case studies for how architecture and infrastructure can perform “care” for the cities around them – through bringing the city in, fulfilling critical public needs, or creating safe and inclusive spaces for people to come together, among many possible examples.

The public lectures, which are planned to be developed in cooperation with the Architecture Institute of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), are also meant to act as inputs for students at the university. Formats for more detailed discussion and closer interaction with students are thus being planned as part of the series.
