  • Systemic changes

Noting that the European Union is facing multiple crises and the questioning of its legitimacy, we propose a political fiction. In the near future, the European Union will propose to its citizens a new social contract, going beyond the framework of the nation-state. In order to be able to implement its new prerogatives, it is developing a network of public facilities throughout its territory. They fulfil several functions: administrative building, courthouse and gathering place. In addition to the functions arising from the greater integration of the Union, these buildings are the symbols, at the level of each region, of a political power that seeks to be embodied. Through this project, we wish to lead a reflection on the mobilisation of architecture and its symbolic scope in the construction of a political body. We question the political dimension of architecture, seen as the theatre where power relations are exercised and where sovereignty is built.
