Architecture of Action

Spatiotemporal practices for an entropic city

Architecture of Action

Spatiotemporal practices for an entropic city
Architecture of Action is a research work, which proposes studying the patterns of accidental appropriation of the city in order to diagnose the possible gestation of a novel counter-disciplinary strategy for radical urban action.

Today, the urban layout as a materialized representation of contemporary supremacies has been corrupted, and the architectural container is continuously parasitized by multiple entropic dynamics. Considering the emergency to rethink the architectural paradigm, Architecture of Action is a proposal to articulate a new spatiotemporal design counter-discipline, which responds to the complexity of the current contingencies and creates new conditions of possibility from the critical position of an interventionist who works with actions and narratives instead of monumentality and materials.

The research work develops a syntax of strategic actions from different fields of the counter-hegemonic interventionism - critical art, heterodox architecture, transformative urban planning, social activism, etc., with the intention to formalize a conceptual framework of a non-representational urbanism, which claims for heterogeneity, intersubjectivity and impermanence of the contemporary city.
