As the mental health problem is growing worldwide, in years to come a new approach to healthcare architecture will be needed. There are many challenges for future-oriented medical buildings. They must meet not only the basic requirements of patients and staff but also make a positive contribution to the environment and society.
The following work is an attempt to redefine mental health facilities' pattern.
The project promotes the development of an innovative healthcare model that focuses on healing, body care, mind, and spirit. The Mental Health Center is a background for psychological therapies and complementary treatment, bringing mental rehabilitation, physical activities, and homely ambient together. The idea is to offer a friendly and engaging space in order to enhance the treatment outcome. The entire concept is strongly connected with nature and creates a regenerative environment based on biophilic design.
