PLAFORMA WOODEN BOAT WORKSHOP

PLAFORMA WOODEN BOAT WORKSHOP

Platform was established in 2017 with the aim of developing and preserving wooden shipbuilding in the area of Boka Bay and Montenegro coast. In two years of active work, with the traditional building system, we reconstructed several wooden boats. In addition to the reconstruction and production of wooden boats, we are unselfishly engaged in preserving the immaterial heritage of wooden shipbuilding, educating the local population on wooden shipbuilding craftsmanship and propagating its advantages in relation to alternative construction methods. The wooden boats in Montenegro and at a large part of the Adriatic sea has lost its utilitarian function as fishing boats and feeding families as in the old days. They are expensive and difficult to maintain. With our work we are trying to revive wooden shipbuilding in our area.
