SPACE ANATOMY
SPACE ANATOMY
- New alliances
The recent health crisis prompt permanent transition in health and social services. In this context new health care infrastructures emerge. How and where they are planned, how they affect and shape institutions, cities, municipalities, and neighborhoods, raises broad debates. Them calling into question existing methodologies of architects and planners and giving impetus for entirely new infrastructures resulting directly out of local necessities.
SPACE ANATOMY’s impact on the development of architecture lies within its aim to bring emerging infrastructures in Austria to light and extend disciplinary debate on spatial expertise as a relevant part of shaping care typologies. This project develops new methodologies, initiates a digital platform and launches a book where local initiatives become showcases for answers to challenges of current health crisis, and enable contrasting local efforts with international positions in architecture, planning and beyond.
