The Womb

  • Site-specific cases

The current Covid-19 pandemic has challenged the way we operate in society forcing us to conform to self-isolation and social distancing. This solitude has brought along severe mental issues of depression, loneliness, and anxiety.
The womb integrates the concept of the journey from isolation back into social structures and community - making each singularity a representation of the different stages. The Isolated sphere is the smallest and hence focuses on the isolation of oneself. The second sphere, Movable, is slightly bigger and represents the engagement with the local community, slowly transitioning from the previous isolation stage into full social interaction.
The last sphere, Rational, is the biggest Womb and its size allows for a large number of people to interact at the same time and is therefore the representation of the last stage of social distancing on the way to normal conditions.
