They come together to create LOCAL in 2019. Oskars Vavere is partner of RUUME arhiteckti, an architecture and master planning successful practice based in Riga. Sandra Sinka & Ansis Šinke are architects with international experience in both academic & professional areas of architecture.

Architectural vision for the construction of the Latvian Paralympic Sport Centre
A sport center designed as an inclusive village-park that broadcast the athlete effort to the public

Global impacts: Unique in Europe, the Village gives visibility to Paralympic sports, and will arouses general public’s interest for the Paralympic Games. Simple architectural solutions have been used to protect and requalify the project site. All buildings are strategically placed on one side of the site while the other remain as natural as possible receiving different sport fields. All spaces are on one single level to guaranty accessibility for all.
Specific impacts: - Public stripe: The public space connecting each building and external fields is a 25m wide plaza able to receive various type of unformal activities or act as an extension of the connected program. - Broadcast: The main challenge of the project is to connect all different types of athletes, answering their own schedules and activities within as large-scale development. By making all sport room visible and accessible form the public stripe, everyone will be able to witness each other performance.
