Reimagine Family and Marriage through blockchain
Artists Yin Aiwen and Jelena Viskovic invite everyone to the thought experiment about alternatives for the marriage institution with blockchain technology, in the face of mass burnout, economic precarity, and the aging society.

ReUnion is an interpersonal smart contract platform that employ blockchain technology to create self-formed, user-owned networks of long-term commitments. The platform offers personal insights for the mental state of the user's relationship network, as well as a chatbot-powered contract-making environment in which (inter-)personalized crypto-tokens will be generated.

ReUnion considers care labor and domestic relationship as the infrastructure of the society. And it wants to explore new business models that empower the immaterial labors -- which are often subjected to social and gender exploitation -- and support the interpersonal relationships and communal practice. In the face of the gig economy and the aged society, we need to look for a more suitable infrastructure for our lives. By giving space for people to model their relationships and network of support from a para-legal perspective, reUnion becomes a test-ground for the future of family and marriage.
