Speculations on Istanbul through Cedric Price’s Cybernetic Paradigm
Istanbulites Thinkbelt (ITb) is the speculations of critical ideas on education through utopian-fictional models.

  • New alliances

The speculations of Istanbulites Thinkbelt (ITb) focus on ideas rather than forms, they have the opportunity to benefit from inferences and changes while preventing official limitations. Thus, regardless of technical and formal limitations, the utopian-fictional models can easily reassess the development of architecture in the future. The "futuristic" features of the ITb are motivated by Cedric Price's cybernetic paradigm that provides profound understanding of the impossibility of determined programming within unstable socio-economic conditions, and of the potential of calculated uncertainty in post-industrial society. The current situation of architectural schools and students, and the idea of reconstructing them with a networked computer operating system can lead to a variety of discussions by encouraging participation and collaboration in the future, and on the other side, can contribute greatly to understanding the potential of design within the social context.
