When space meets desire
When space meets desire

- New alliances
In 2007 I founded Effetto Larsen, a company based in Milan, Italy. We make site-specific and participatory projects at international level, involving the citizens in their development.
We grasped a possibility: contemporary art can create spaces that respond to human needs. Whether they are aggregation, sharing, rituality, belonging, these are fundamental elements for human communities, and often neglected. As artists we can choose to take responsibility, which is based on creating the conditions for authentic, human listening.
There projects have a strong link with architecture: imagining and creating spaces, assigning them a function, sharing them. I have also been asked to collaborate to imagine new uses for abandoned spaces, which could become natural locations for socially useful activities. By combining the point of view of participatory art with that of architects, we can review the structure of society starting from its most necessary and forgotten functions.

STORMO, durational performance about collective intelligence. The public can decide whether to watch or participate in the collective movement, that has no leader. Sound and lights are developed with the movements, live.

Mnemosyne, emotional mapping of areas. The installation becomes a space to share and discover, a powerful storytelling device.

An industrial space transformed for After/Dopo, an installation about the end and what remains. The audience is invited to imagine, for a few hours, the world without them. It is a path with activities, and in each activity they can choose to leave some marks, like traces.

The categories room, from the After/Dopo installation. The topic is the end and what remains of us, and in this room the audience is invited to write down everything they're leaving behind, dividing it in categories like material goods, relationships, unfinished business, secrets, and so on.

Again from After/Dopo: we create a carpet of dry leaves, where the audience can slow down, imagine their end in a peaceful and pleasant way, share an experience.
