KLOSBRUNECKÝ was founded in 2014 by Swiss-Czech architects Daniel Klos and Radek Brunecký in Zurich and Brno. Our design methods circle around the hyper-specific approach in that we always try to look beyond the veil of past conventions and find the hidden potential of each task in the given elements. Each context, each client and each working environment is a unique set of parameters that offers the chance to create something exciting and fresh.

Call for ideas 2018

Architecture 2.0

The future of architecture is participatory, dynamic, open and messy, so let's build this Utopia together!

The future of architecture is participatory, dynamic, open and messy, so let's build this Utopia together!
Architecture2.0 is an exciting collective experiment in search of Utopia, the open city of the future.

"Architektur Werkschau Zurich" is an exhibition focusing on fresh trends in Swiss architecture. In 2016 we were selected in a competition to participate as an upcoming office.
The task was to present a vision of architecture, in an interactive way, on a large block of polystyrene.
Instead of a conventional presentation, we decided to use the given elements to create an event, specifically tailored for this occasion:
We offered the polystyrene block to the visitors, so they could playfully and freely experience the process of architecture as we see it:
Architecture is the courage to share your ideas, working together, using limited resources wisely and last but not least: Having some fun.
The resulting model is a true Utopia: An open city that is built by everyone and belongs to everyone, an architecture that never stops telling its own story!
To us, this "Architecture 2.0" is the future of our profession.

We offered the polystyrene block to the visitors, so they could playfully experience the process of architecture as we see it. We were amazed by the creative energy set free in the audience that could interact with the block completely freely, even lifting it up or cutting it in half.

Architecture is the courage to share your ideas, working together, using limited resources wisely and last but not least: Having some fun!

Each participant could choose an individual avatar figurine and place it in the model, be it in a group, exposed or hidden: Architecture is positioning yourself!

The resulting model is a true Utopia: An open city that is built by everyone and belongs to everyone, an architecture that never stops telling its own story!
To us, this participatory "Architecture 2.0" is the future of our profession.
