I wrote an essay entitled "architecture in evolution: a typology" which I published on my personal website. It is intended to bring renewed meaning and direction to architectural practice by providing a theoretical basis for making design decisions, primarily regarding architectural form.

I think it is important to stretch the limits of architectural theory to include prehistoric time. Since the lifespan of the human species was spent for the most part in the pre-literate condition, I think it is safe to assume that whatever happened there has an enduring formative impact. To find our bearings in the present moment, however, it is not enough to rely on tradition. The human imagination provides premonitions of the future to guide us.

The essay, an elaboration of my 2016 masters thesis at Sandberg Institute, Amsterdam, can be read in full here: https://sixorder.blogspot.com/p/blog-page_54.html
