SOTH has the ambition to observe and adjust the reading of our augmented globe: the great invisible infrastructure is the entanglement of outer space facilities and its electromagnetic network. Optical imagery, pixel farming and movement tracking are putting together the tools for a planetary scale observatory. A multitude of observatories punctuates the cartesian dome: should we be aware of those eyes?
“If you feel God is following you, you are a believer; what are you if you know that satellites are following you? an actor?” AN-10-A reverses the roles: capturing the transits of optical imagery satellites, it translates it into a perennial rendez-vous. An ever-changing composition emerges from the interplay of the journeying satellites, crossing roads in low orbit. The infrastructural algorithmic ballet becomes a nocturnal convergence. Conceived for Art Safiental, AN10A is now travelling through Switzerland mutually adapting to its location.
