Space, perception, learning
Space, perception, learning
Starting from the contemporary epistemological vision on the relation between human beings and world, conceived as dynamic process of learning, and referring to the most recent surveys in neuroscience which consider the motor actions interdependent with the mode of operation of the cognitive system, it is possible to explore new ways of interaction between mind, body and space. Space provides affordances - chances of action - that everyone can get as individual opportunities. Space is thus intended as “space of potential actions”, not a background where the actions happen but an active perception-action process. Being aware of this means to identify a new approach to the space design, which is not deterministic. The freedom of action for the users represents a great contribution to the development of the space itself. Our design strategy is aimed to create a flexible space for experimenting the space, with a particular attention to the childhood and learning architectures.
