The concept is a non-profit work and was created to provoke a discussion of Krakow residents and show that such extreme examples of eyesores in the urban area as Zablocie - Podgorze junction rail line put into service by the end of 2017 are possible to mend. The idea consists in conversion of bright blue acoustic screens in horizontal walls of greenery. It is a typical manifestation of young architects irritated at the condition of space and urban esthetics, yet keeping enthusiastically their minds open. The issue is nationwide, and instead of Krakow and flyovers in Podgorze district, a freely chosen town in Poland, in which similar places demanding an intervention would fit in here best as well. Livable Viaducts addresses many environmental and climatic aspects. Krakow is one of the most polluted cities in Europe. Green viaducts will reduce air pollution in the city and will help rebuild the bird habitat after massive investments in rail infrastructure.
