Away from the lights for a long time, our rural environment needs to get again a central place in the architectural discipline. Constructions, public spaces and landscapes of those territory deserve to be in the middle of our daily work, without any cliché. By questioning theirs forms and their uses, we permit them to take part to the story of our era. Their strong territorial identity open some answers for the identity crisis that cross our society.
In a small town, the project is turning an old farm into a new place of sociability. Reusing existing forms and constructions builds an historic continuity of spatial structures. It establishes in the same movement a new common for the inhabitants, where traditional solidarity has been eroded at last century.
Leaning on the strong resilience of existing constructions, the project extends their lifetime and the many ways they can be used. Building those new commons, out of the urban conditions, is a way to build new territory equity.
