Kaleidoscope - Art and Architecture

Art is The Future of Architecture

Kaleidoscope - Art and Architecture
Art - uniting people and architects towards the future of a good architecture.

Art, like the other elements of the Vitruvian Triad, stability and function, should be even more used in architecture. Different from the other elements which are becoming more and more influenced by technology, Art depends on people interacting.
Our idea is to use a toy, the kaleidoscope, to help in the development of the project.
The architect gives a theme to the public, asks them to create 3D shapes related to the theme using colored paper and glue and also asks to the public to explain the shapes and then, in a relaxed way, asks to the public to see the 3D shapes they’ve created through a large kaleidoscope, where these forms transform in a diversity of colors and new shapes, now in 2D. And they’ll see a transformation of the object through the kaleidoscope.
Such action of seeing the object in a kaleidoscope causes great surprise and admiration in the public. This great surprise come from the Idea. And the Idea transform itself in surprise. The future passes here.

(1) EXPLANATION ABOUT THE SUBJECT AND (2)PUBLIC STARTING TO MAKE THE OBJECTS - The project called KALEIDOSCOPE is far beyond the kaleidoscope itself. This is a Instalation where the public is part of the project. The public is part of it and also helper and the artist, as well as spectator. The idea is that the public can see and make their own work of art and then be surprised to see this work of art through an artifact. THE IMPORTANT IS THE SURPRISE

(3) THE PUBLIC AND THE OBJECTS
While the public manufacture the object, they will be photographed producing the art. At least the hands should be photographed in the process of making the objects.

(4) THE OBJECTS
After making the objects, each person can make a short explanation of what is the object and what they intended to produce. They can also fill out a form explaining your object.

(5) THE KALEIDOSCOPE
After this step, people move to the other room. In this room there is a large kaleidoscope, 2 meters long, with a support to place the manufactured object. This kaleidoscope is composed of three pieces of mirror measuring 0.20 m x 2 m, placed together forming a prism.
This prism, with the mirror facing the inside of the prism, has no cover or bottom. Thus, objects placed on one side are seen on the other side in a colorful, in a kaleidoscope-shape.

(6) THE SURPRISE
When the spectator who fabricated the object sees its object reflected through the kaleidoscope mirror, he will have a small surprise. The object is moved by an advisor on the opposite side of the spectator.
The movement of the object, with forward and backward movement, and object rotation, produces an infinity of colored shapes and this causes the surprise. The object, which was in 3D, is now seen as 2D, but in a completely different way.

The important is the surprise.
