Giulio Gabrielli, graduated from Politecnico di Milano in Science of Architecture and MArch at The CASS London. In his approach to architecture, he investigate the relationship between sound and space, the concept of city as an orchestra, where the soundscape can be expressed as the most complex musical composition and architecture as a spatial practice which resonate the sonic environment. A new way to think architecture by the geometrical essence of space using the approach of sound reading.

Adaptation to extreme topography using VR.
oNDa is a large infrastructure project for Castelmola, a small town on the South-West coast of Sicily, facing Taormina and the Ionian sea.

The project is the result of the adaptation to an extreme topography, deeply linked to its cultural context and landscape, designed to generate a new sustainable economy for the town.
VR and 3D photogrammetry scanning where essential tools used to understand the complex topographical conditions. The landscape was scanned and tested in VR to design the desired view of the landscape and arrange the openings according to the circulation.
The building brief respond to key issues regarding Castemola accessibility, it provides a cable car connection with Taormina and is part of “Castelmola Città degli Artisti”, a program supported by the local community, promoting art in the town. The infrastructure offers large spaces to create and exhibit artworks produced during the artist program.
