Galeria de Arquitectura

An independent storefront-space to debate architecture.

Galeria de Arquitectura

An independent storefront-space to debate architecture.
From a small 6 sqm space with a big window open to the city, Galeria de Arquitectura aims to bridge the gap between Architecture and the citizens.

Type of project
  • New alliances

In a city that is internationally recognized by the only two Portuguese Pritzkers, the Galeria de Arquitectura aims to be an independent, experimental, non-institutionalized stage, which contribute to the creation of a new architectural discourse and, therefore, for attracting new audiences, extending the global attention on the various subjects that surround the Architecture discipline.

Instead of assuming itself merely as a space for hosting existing architecture exhibitions, the Galeria de Arquitectura asserts itself as a space for the creation of new architecturally relevant content in each new exhibition, thus constituting itself as a continuous research platform in interaction with the city.

By fomenting a network and fostering the relationship with international interlocutors and partners, the Galeria de Arquitectura intends, from Porto, to promote innovative ideas and thoughts that contribute to the design of cities, territory and of life in society.
