Weird Drawings (Los Dibujos Raros)

Spaces of collective production in which to question the narratives about a public park through graphic experimentation and drawing

Weird Drawings (Los Dibujos Raros)

Spaces of collective production in which to question the narratives about a public park through graphic experimentation and drawing
Relating to a park through the process of collective drawing to change the given narratives
File under
Type of project
  • Site-specific cases

Within the framework of the Weird Parties project -part of the program Imagina Madrid- and in collaboration with a nearby school and a local association working with autism, one of the spaces for the collective construction of the big Weird Party was articulated around drawing and graphic experimentation to share and question the different imaginaries and stories around a public park conceived as dangerous.

Generating a dialogue without words with the park and its textures, materials, colors, elements and shapes through drawing, the park is proposed to be seen as another agent with whom to relate in the process. These 'weird drawings' do not seek to be correct, beautiful, or even look like anything: they only seek to generate a space of attention and listening in which to reflect on and review the emotional ties with the park and its imaginaries.

The Weird Drawings produced were displayed in a temporary exhibition / installation in the park during the final Weird Party.
