  • Site-specific cases

The cube mysterious and ethereal appearance is designed to prompt the curiosity of the visitors.
The textile float, seemingly unhinged from a distance; light, sounds and voices spread to the surrouinding.
It is only by getting closer that this intimate space discloses its function: inside the cube, on the ceiling lightshows and films can be projected. Each side of the construction also works as projection screens, creating a collective viewing experience while maintaning a distance, for whatever reason that might be.
As soon as the sun goes up the cube trasform itself to an area for outdoor activities, relax or vernissages.
The pavilion can be easily assembled with common materials (timber, metal pipes and cable, sand) and placed in squares, museums, in the midlle of a cornfield or even on a barge, floating in a lake.

A space that can be used for projections at night, offering five different points of view, so that everybody can choose to join in from a comfortable distance, whatever the reason may be.

-At night the structure appears as an ethereal glowing cube, a landmark that can be used as an open air cinema or for artistic events.
-During the day it becomes a spot for organised activities, such as theatre or petanque, or as a casual hangout in the shade.

Construction Details:
(A) The cube is held by each edge by a triangular pillar; (B) the deck is formed by thermotreated floor boards and structural timber. The deck perimeter forms a sand box with ca 30 m3 of sand. It functions as structural fondation but also as comfortable pavement surface; (C) the steel cables tension the textile and fasten it to the structure.
