With this design concept I wanted to bring back possibilities to live in this house again. Its own presence can’t be unnoticed. But owners are afraid to dig in and start renovating. In general, is still very present mindset about expensive renovations, belief that modern way of life does not fit into an old house, there are limits for new ideas and everyone wants to avoid negative surprises and extra cost during renovation. This project shows that renovating old houses pays off. At the end, old buildings are a bond to what we are - they are our identity and roots. I discovered specialties of architecture in Kozjansko and tried to create interior, full of memory of the past, with a story told by the furniture itself. Because of location there are also some important rules which builders and renovators must consider. With them Kozjanski park ensures the preservation of the architectural landscape, which nowadays disappears quickly.

Old rock house built in 1882 is still important building for homestead. No matter of time still shows the wealth of the builders. On south facade grows old vine.

Whole interior is a combination of old and new, country and modern style. While designing much attention was paid to natural light. Developed are new patterns from an old wall painting. Used are for decorating new furniture (clothes hanger, bed, stair fence). Some old pieces of furniture have been recycled, and the door hole has become a niche for shelves.

Floor plan was not transformed much. From the six-cell floor plan layout, a new layout of rooms was created, which includes an entrance hallway, a kitchen with a living room, an office, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a smaller utility hallway. Dark and full of storage attic is now transformed in a comfortable, full of natural light space for two children's rooms, reading corner and toilet. The speciality of this building are arched ceilings in the cellar and retained arches above windows.

The exterior of the architecture remained almost the same. The key relationships of facade and symmetry are preserved. Quality of living is improved with new connection between interior and exterior, better room arrangement and utilized attic.

New patterns, developed for this project are used on furniture, to decorate curtains, dishes, and wooden pedestals. Those are made from walnut wood and decorated with pyrograph. Could be used as plates for coffee and pastry, as meet and cheese tray or as a base for hot pots. Other side is blank and could be used for cutting.
