Stories of Underground

The utopian company town below the surface of the world
The miracle of the “Mineral” allows the city to bloom into a carefully orchestrated utopia, buried deep in the Earth.

“Stories Underground” is an exploration of the fictional company town of MineriCorp, a secluded utopia, placed thousands of miles below the surface of the world. The stories are not solutions to current problems, nor a working model of a new world in the post-pandemic future. Rather, it is a warning of our hubris and obsession with natural resources. We are no longer bound to the restrictions of the physical world, as we have developed a much more complex reality, expanding beyond our wildest imagination. The Earth is a brittle provider of resources that fuel our new, never-ending virtual world. “Stories Underground” is a collection of stories about a company town that grows by exploiting the miracle of the “Mineral” which solves all of society’s problems. With every miniscule detail of the world fabricated to perfection, MineriCorp is home to a perfect culture, perhaps slightly delusional to those unaware of its perfection.

Buried deep, the city blooms within the remains of old mines. After the “Mineral” is extracted, the AccuWeather weather system is installed to allow for picture perfect conditions for a city to grow.

Work is simple, fun, and guaranteed for all members of the MineriCorp family. There is a place and task for anyone and everyone. Every member of the company has a key role in maintaining the perfection of the world below. Just a few clicks a day can be enough to feed an entire family of four!

Anything and everything can be grown to perfection in the Mineral infused soils of food cluster farms. All produce is carefully modified to provide the best flavor and nutrition, without any need to slaughter animals.

The luxury of the sunlight treatment centers cannot be explained in words. All members have free access to any of the sixty locations courtesy of the company health plan. Sunlight treatments can be preprogrammed for any type of relaxation, from sleeping on soft sandy beach to relaxing near a lakeside mountain.

The perfection of MineriCorp is reserved for those who believe in the work of the company. The consequences of Mineral mining are but a small price to pay for such a miracle. So, what if the land above is no longer livable and highly toxic beyond control? Life is amazing below.
