Studio MONOMIX is an architecture and design office based in Seoul, South Korea. It was founded by Lea KANG (*1992) in 2016. studio MONOMIX aims to realize creative ideas based on crafts and technology. The scale of the production of the design and project covers everything from small props to space. We want to pursue diverse experiences with soft thinking that has no norm in form

There is a cycle in our cities and buildings. People and technology change over time. Buildings that are affected by people and technology lose their use over time and are subject to other new uses. And the building is shaped for its purpose. However, as time goes by, new needs and deletions are needed. If buildings grow and disappear like plants in response to changes in behavior of people and technology, we will consume less resources and energy.
Suppose there are structures of molecular type that can move by magnetic field. These structures will move in response to electromagnetism. They read the size and speed and tangle of individuals electronic devices carried by human beings(homo mobilis). Through the algorithm, people's behavior is analyzed. And if changes in behavior accumulated over a long period are detected, the structure changes organically. By electricity and magnetism, the structure is liquefied or molecularized and moved and solidified again.

Electric devices make magnetism, and magnetism can make shapes.

This magnet reads the intertwining of the size and speed individuals of the electric bodies carried by human beings(homo mobilis). At speed, you will know whether the actor(human) is walking, running, riding a bicycle or driving, and we will be able to determine form a road. The size of the electromagnetism and tangle of traffic lines can classify whether it is a quiet alley, a plaza, a office, or a shopping center.

Through this algorithm, people's behavior is analyzed and the personality changes in space. And if a change in behavior accumulated over a long period of time is detected, the structure moves organically.
