The practice is driven by a consistent philosophical approach, not a predetermined style. It explores and develops new ways of thinking about architecture and the surrounding contextual environment in order to create models for change and innovation. Projects are approached with a comprehensive emphasis on environmental themes, materiality and cultural context. The studio aims to create specifically designed and detailed buildings that are deeply contextual with equal attention to function.

Urban installation in the city of Logroño
Otravisión is a temporary intervention that aims to celebrate a public space by providing passers-by with the opportunity to perceive the physical space from entirely new and unpredicted points of view.

  • Site-specific cases

Temporary ephemeral smallsize architectures can easily help us to discover and rediscover spaces of interest in our cities. The innate flexibility of those interventions lets architects experiment and explore new fields of design with their environment, thereby establishing a dialogue between heritage and contemporary architecture, which seeks to activate citizens’ reflection on these spaces. These structures quickly appear and disappear but they are designed to invest and embed themselves in a community, public space or set of ideas, as they open up possibilities, test scenarios and subvert preconceptions of what our cities should be like and how we should behave in them. The impermanence allows us designers to test solutions or to interrogate the possibilities of a particular place: unlike the existing permanent city planning system, where somebody decides what the perfect programme should be, the temporary lets the community try it out and listens to their opinion.
