COLLCOLL, a multi-disciplinary collective based in Berlin, Tirana, Munich and Basel. We are scenographers, architects, urban planners and artists working partly research-based on architectural projects, exhibitions, art in public and in participatory project spaces since 2019. In 2020 we were part of the pilot project #openfactory of the Internationale Bauausstellung IBA Thuringia. We are interested in performative urbanism, "porous" structures and narrative collages of art and architecture.

Call for ideas 2021

BAU:BÜHNE

a participatory construction site on stage

BAU:BÜHNE

a participatory construction site on stage
BAU:BÜHNE is a performative, participatory event, a discursive structure and a collective material experiment.

Type of project
  • New alliances

The spotlight is to be directed on a central location in Stuttgart for an experiment between architecture, urban planning, sculpture and performance. In public space a „construction site on stage“ out of rammed earth will be built within public workshops. Actors, architects, artists and scenographers will work together with neighbors. BAU:BÜHNE aspires to merge design office and construction site with stage play and to be a participatory urban transformation!
The open stage construction is intended to encourage interaction and self-empowerment. Divers people can participate and easily relate to the common materials and simple tools. Earth clay is circular and can be returned to the material cycle. During and after the construction, plays and readings are to take place on the BAU:BÜHNE as part of the performative reinterpretation of the site. The erection becomes a sustainable and unifying feat of strength.
