Hotel de Central

a trip to the Austrian Alps

Hotel de Central

a trip to the Austrian Alps
My vision is an architecture that is emerging from its surrounding. The project is a hotel that is spread over five buildings in a small alpine town.
File under

The idea of a decentral building breaks the paradigma of huge structures. Especially in tourism the buildings often blow the scale of the surrounding.

This hotel of my vision still hosts 150 people and can therefore be economically sucessfull. But the buildings reflect the scale of the neighbours and are integrative parts of the town.

The facilities for guests are spread over five buildings that can be reached by foot. So the guests are animated to leave their building and be part of the social life. Therefore interactions with local people are engaged and a very desired cutural interaction can happen.

rendering of the building (house nr°1) where all the guests arrive and are then distributed to the other parts

view over the town from a balcony of house nr°2 - three of the other four buildings can be seen as well in the picture

rendering of the house nr°5

overview of the five parts of the hotel and the surrounding town - model in scale 1:200

perspective of the houses nr°3, 4 and 5 - model in scale 1:200
