To understand architecture as a tool to trigger social and economical development is not a novel perspective at all, but rather inherent in the built environment.
If we are serious about seeking a sustainable architecture with a positive local impact, an architecture that contributes to social change, we need to focus on the practice itself, forms of collaboration, procurement and representation. This process starts prior to the design phase, goes beyond occupation and includes construction, programming and maintenance.
For an Architecture that claims to deal with accountability beyond the built work, for a practice that is process itself we need to create the space in which partnerships, resources, scale and time can be developed, applied and constantly learned from.
