Call for ideas 2016
DO it again - Exhibiting Architecture and Displaying spaces
DO it again - Exhibiting Architecture and Displaying spaces
The proposed idea gives an opportunity to discuss architecture and town-planning from an exhibition point of view, compared to contemporary spatial practices. This work will research concept of display not only as an exhibition but as theoretical presumption and as an architectural idea as well. In that sense the institution of exhibition, particularly international ones, are playing an important role in educational purposes and general future of architecture.
Idea is to research theoretical consideration of exhibition as an archive for preservations of ideas of architecture, in short exhibition not as typology but as a form of action. The research plans to show that these effects are based upon the pedagogical nature of showing, and carry both authoritarian and emancipatory potential of exhibitions as places of architectural future. Authors will explore exhibitions, both as site of (re)presentation and as an architectural strategy – a tool for research and spatial practice.
