What if we can create future houses and all furniture inside our homes from organic materials that were already in use? How much it would impact planet resources? How much it will reduce usage of plastic? These are the questions we asked ourselves and found answers in our past.
"Valkuvannia" in Ukrainian means modelling walls from mixture of clay, hemp, straw, other organic materials. This ecological construction technique was widely used in Ukraine in 18-19 century.
We studied it carefully and adopted in designing objects with contemporary vision. Recycled metal, cellulose, wood chips and clay – these are main "ingredients" of design objects name ZTISTA (in Ukrainian — "made of dough") where we rethink a sustainable architectural approach of our ancestors with modern circular materials. In collaboration with local artisans we created not just natural but also long-living objects available for further reuse.
