UF0 is an urban design concept which aims to create an urban community development focused on a self-productive environment. The name evokes the idea of a self-productive ecosystem which leans on the Earth like a spaceship without consuming natural resources and soil. It can be considered in the new economy countries for a long-term vision to respond at the global urbanization issues related to the soil consumption. It may be ideal as an alternative way to the classical suburban detached-housing schemes which dramatically consume great quantity of natural land. Considering the land as a limited global resource, this community will reduce its ecological-footprint by living in a modular prefabricated hypogeum-buildings, neutralizing the presence of human constructions above the ground.
