Garden of Eden
Garden of Eden
- Site-specific cases
Garden of Eden is an attempt to show, on a small scale, the effects of overconsumption and plastic waste on our planet. We are being more and more consumed by our habits of using massive quantities of plastic single-use packaging. It is a big topic, but the effects on the environment are immense.
As architects, we can do our part not only in finding solutions, but also trying to raise awareness on different topics, from social injustices, human rights, environmental policies, to perhaps less monumental issues. We should be striving to find new ways of recycling, living with different materials, changing the nature of our daily routines and behaving in a more responsible way.
Transformed ways of our living will produce different architecture, and the other way around, different architecture has an effect on changing our behaviour.
