Autonomous vehicle and sustainable mobility as a shaping tool for the cities of tomorrow
Autonomous vehicle and sustainable mobility as a shaping tool for the cities of tomorrow
- Systemic changes
Our project is about the impact of autonomous vehicles as a shaping tool for the cities of tomorrow, as part of the 4th industrial revolution that takes place right now through artificial intelligence. Current transport and IoT technologies, if properly exploited, may offer transition opportunities to new cities, and redefinement of existing ones, where the main benefits will be to citizens, changes in the attitude of use (autonomous vehicles) and ownership (shared fleets)of transport, on demand actions in the now liberated public space, the real-time urban needs being heard and their rapid satisfaction from their technologically upgraded competent bodies (interconnected city servers, AI), the major limitation of pollutants to acceptable limits but also the equal respect for all social groups. All of the above must, however, be combined with such modifications always in the light of the needs of the resident, but also of his potential for the near and long future.
