Architecture & Film
Architecture & Film
The decreased socio-political involvement of citizens has affected the scale of our collective imagery. This has retracted people’s influence on spatial development. The importance of architecture for the urban future is beyond the exclusive responsibility of architects. Therefore it is imperative to expose these topics to the public.
Film is able to capture and present to the general public ideas that otherwise would remain within the professional realm. The relation between film and architecture enables reflection on the importance of architecture as an indispensable element in every development that involves space, time and people. By screening films on architecture, urban and environmental issues people are exposed to new images that can transform their perception faster than their realities will do during their lifetime.
Architecture & film foments a subversive awareness helping people to imagine the impossible, to uncover what was forgotten and to reimagine our urban future.
