The Hummingbird Effect
The Hummingbird Effect
The ambitions for this project is firstly to strengthen the social bonds of the citizenry and to stimulate cognitive alchemy. Secondly, to understand the role of play in the public realm as a facilitator for participatory design. It will unlock the potential of place to stimulate civil discourse and explore the relationship between design and place-based social change in creating better urban experiences. We’re living in a time of great complexity; facing complex problems. As such, spatial authors require radical new approaches for design. We need new narratives, a new normal and a new frame of innovation that considers whole systems, and participatory authorship. This project aims to reframe city-making narratives to create a more democratised and equitable future. This project will play with the future and experiment with new conventions that redefine how spatial strategies and urban experiences are realised through experimentation and public discourse on alternative futures.
